Stainless steel better and stronger resistance to corrosion

I used to be a chimney sweep and I have used Homesaver brand for years. It’s well constructed, and looks good on the chimney. I opted for the stainless for the look, as everyone in my neighborhood has the typical black. The chimney cap provides protection from weather as well as animals. The easy install means, if your not afraid of heights, you could install yourself, or have your chimney sweep do it for a small fee.

This chimney cap appears to be well-made with good quality stainless steel. The base is heavy and should withstand a lot of punishment from the elements. If there is a weakness, it's in the mounting system. I mean it works ok with the four stainless screws contacting the flue liner to hold it in place, but I would think a band or the base actually sliding into the flue liner would be a better system. But, seems to be solid and I guess time will tell about the security of the mounting system. Overall, I think it's a good quality cap for the money.

This was exactly what my husband had been looking for! The ones at the local building supply stores didn't appear to be made very well. This one is very well made and fits perfect. I wanted a black one to match our new shingles, so with the help of some hi-temp flat black spray paint, mu hubby installed it and it looks great ! Hope it last for many years to come.

This is the best product on the market!! Use care in ordering sizes!! This advertised size is 13" X 13" - it really means it will fit outside diameter of your chimney pipe that is 13 1/2" X 13 1/2" with generous adjusting screws.LOVED IT!!! This is an extremely well made product. The stainless steel is ..like...forever!! And it is so strong I believe you could drive a truck over it!! The welds are well hidden and the bends in the metal are square. Not like some I have ordered long ago.

I'm very pleased with this stainless steel chimney cap, it is well made and the price is very fair.I didn't have enough clay pipe extending to use the set screws, so I removed them and screwed it to the top of the chimney with tapcons. Worked great and now the rain doesn't get into the chimney.
