Collins German Concise Dictionary, 5th Edition (Collins Language)

I've gotta say, this dictionary has met all of the standards for which I hold regard towards when looking for a dictionary. It has almost all words that can come on my mind, with a neat and comfy looking list of words.I also like the grammar section at the end, about 185 pages at the end dedicated to grammar only, suitable for people who might forget some rules or are looking to learn the languages alongside the vocabluary. This dictionary also got a really satisfying design, feel and smell when ordered new. It also has examples to explain the meaning of specific words which are found to be more difficult in the language.Only one issue I've got to comment thereupon, it is the fact that the paperback bends easily forever, which causes some sort of dented-looking paperback, which I find very uncomfortable to look at. But some people can be OK with bent paperbacks, which is fine, but this problem annoys me greatly for some reason.But other than this tiny (possibly negligble) issue, this almost a perfect dicitonary for everyone who is looking for a good source of vocabulary or a vocabualry with a grammar concise dict. altogether. I recommend this especially for students like me who are looking to further broaden their vocabulary in german more professionally and comfortably. Excellent dictionary.

This is a positive review for the seller and for the book. The book was preowned but never used, absolutely pristine. So well done!The dictionary is so thorough that it is large for convenience. It isn’t a travelers book, but if you need a complete reference this is it.

Over hyped. I've used it 10 times and welllll... unless your college professor insisted you use this.... it's just ehhh.Nothing Google can't do. It might be better if it had common phrases or idioms but it's just an overpriced dictionary.

I have had this dictionary before but lost my old copy. It's a great dictionary. The defined words to be defined in blue for easier reading. In general the print is easy to read. The dictionary is up-to-date in technology, and is comprehensive in its definitions. When giving definitions of words, say German words, the various nuances of the word are indicated in parentheses in English before each definition indicating the correct context for that definition, a must in any modern bilingual dictionary. In the olden days bilingual dictionaries simply listed all possible definitions of a word, leaving you to figure out context. Hardly helpful.

This is my first German-English dictionary and it looks very informative and a great tool for learning German.It was also fast delivery.

I bought this latest edition of Collins German Concise Dictionary because I already have an earlier version! It is very good.

Just a good Ole dictionary. Had problems finding many words my german pen pals would use in my last one and this is much better.

Much better than expected.

I've recently started learning German again at university and this dictionary is perfect for those at the intermediate level. I also own the Oxford dictionary, but I think I prefer the Collins dictionary. There's a grammar section at the back, which comes in handy if you don't want to refer to a textbook or look online for further explanations.
