The Tangled Bank: An Introduction to Evolution Second Edition

I bought this book for an Evolution class and I was really upset initially. I did not want to spend the money on this, nor take the class. To my surprise, however I really liked the book. It presented the information of Evolution more like an exciting story, than a boring drone, and this comes from a hater. Evolution ceased to be a boring explanation for a phenomenon and became an exciting happenstance of nature that leads to beautiful and unexpected things. Of course, my teacher of the course did help change my view on the topic, so not all of this change of point of view can be attributed to the book, but it did aide in my mental transition. Overall, this book not only aided in my course, but aided in my appreciation of the topic and my understanding of this natural and forever progressing phenomenon.

Bought used but still was in great condition. It had a few bent pages but everything else was great, much better than paying full prices for a new one somewhere else. I am a college student trying to save money and I am glad to have shopped with amazon textbooks.

Got this for a college course but it’s actually a good book and filled with great information

The condition of the book I received was fairly good. The only "problem" with it was that there were a lot of black lines on the cover of the book, but there was nothing on the inside pages and it was perfectly fine. Great used textbook for the price! Thank you so much!

Good book to learn about evolution

Books fine but came with a large bend in the corner

Cannot go from nothing to chaos to complex order and design. That’s just common sense. Everything tends to disorder not order.No one can prove the earth is billions of years old. That’s blind faith. Processes are not always linear. Look at Mt St Helens - canyons created and sediments laid in minutes not millions of years. Same with Grand Canyon.

There can be few textbooks that are so informative,inspiring and concise(and so well illustrated) yet read like a block busting novel.Some scientific background is of benefit,however i am sure not essential to enjoy this.What can i say...one of the best books of any kind i have read and has inspired me to pursue this line of study in my open university course.Nice one Carl!

Fantastic textbook for this course I'm taking at the moment. It's a bit expensive, but the textbook is clear, offers a lot of examples and diagrams.
