Zaatar Spice by Tyme Foods – Filler-Free with Genuine Hyssop Herb (Origanum syriacum) 3.5 OZ Real Zaatar Seasoning Blend

This brand tastes good. Tastes fresh. My family liked this brand and they are picky, and quick to tell me when they don’t like something. There are other brands they eat at all. Also, this is not overly salty, which means it has more of the expensive ingredients. I recommend this.

I often shy away from spice blends, assuming they're just floor sweepings or some kind of stale powder. Not this za'atar blend! Initially, I was looking for a za'atar paste (lots of oil, ton of sesame seed, some flavor), but thought I'd give this dry spice mix a try. SO glad I did! I now make my own za'atar paste that I schmear generously on plain pizza crust, then add roasted veggies and bake. It's OWIE delicious! I like how I can add as much/little oil as I want, and the seasoning blend has ALL the right fragrance and flavor to make a fabulous paste. I also sprinkle the seasoning as-is over any side dish that inspires me: potato salad, pasta, rice dishes, into soups. It just adds a lovely warmth to the dish. I will make this a permanent addition to my spice collection.

Sprinkled on my Baba Ganoush gives it just that extra something. Expensive!

I’ve tried a lot of brands of za’atar and this one is a winner. It has a fresh, strong flavor and I love that it doesn’t contain any fillers or preservatives . I use this za’atar in a variety of ways - mixing into olive oil or hummus for an easy dip for pita bread, roasting chicken/beef/veggies/potatoes, sprinkling on eggs...it’s delicious on so many things. Bought the shaker size to give it a try - will definitely be purchasing the larger size once I run out.

I bought this after trying a zaatar croissant at a Levantine bakery. WOW. Delicious.

I purchased 5 za’atar blend, this week, and made my own with spices I have at home. This one is the clear winner! Absolute perfection! Can’t wait to make man’ouche this weekend!

Even in nyc good za'atar is hard to find. This is hands down the best I've found. It's the real deal. Next time I'm ordering the 1-lb bag. Favorite application - on popcorn with a drizzle of evoo and nutritional yeast (aka Nooch). It's addictive.

This seems to be a pretty good amount for the price, but the problem is that it turns out that I don't like this particular combination. Rather unfair to give it a star rating based on that, but I can't figure out how to simply eliminate the review. At the same time, I don't want to mislead anyone. So three star and a dismissive headline...
