Very impressive knife for carry
This is a very impressive knife. When I was looking for a new carry knife I was very interested in some of the newer powdered steel materials, and this one caught my interest. Of course it is incredibly sharp, but the operation and ergonomics are outstanding. It flips open easily with a flick of the thumb, and I find the pocket catch very useful. Practice a little and the blade deploys as you pull it out of your pocket seamlessly (pull back from your pocket like you want to put your arm behind your back). The handle shape is ergonomic and very safe due to the deep forefinger well.

One of the best edc self defense options
I was iffy about getting this knife because of all the videos showing the obvious safety concern with it, but decided to take a chance and try it ... This knife is one of the best knifes out for self defense and just overall edc. The blade shape and grind are perfect for both.. the g10 handle is kind of smooth but not hard to keep a grip on .. the flipping tab is kind of pointy but it flips well and smooth.. Over all if you're afraid of getting it because of the safety concerns that some people have dont be its almost impossible to cut yourself on that spot unless you have really small fingers ... i have carried it and used it for about a month and have not had any issues.

Can't decide if I like the blade
Look, the knife itself is of very high quality, fit and finish are great, arrived very sharp, scales are nice... really there is nothing at all to complain about with this knife. The blade is S30V steel, which is a premium knife steel (and was specifically created for knives). Handles are smooth G10 - I do wish they were a bit grippier, but it's not a problem once the knife is open because the finger groove is perfect for keeping the knife in place with your index finger. Very comfortable to hold, and that knife ain't goin nowhere unintentional.I just can't decide if I like the curve on the blade. It's unique and does provide more cutting surface. It looks kinda like it WANTED to be a bowie shape, but didn't quite get that last clip done. That, or someone shaved off the top 2/3 of the blade for some reason. No concerns about the safety. Yes, you could theoretically cut yourself, but you truly have to TRY to do so. I don't see any way it could happen unintentionally.Quality of the knife is 5 stars. It's only rated 4 because of the curve.

Splendid
This knife quickly became one of my favorite EDC. Its got great ergonomics and very sturdy, confident feel when handled. The wicked curvature on the blade suits me well for whatever reason.Caveats, theres really only two ways to open it: the wave or the flipper. Its impossible for me to grip the spyder hole. You can also cut yourself on the closed knife because a small part of the blade is exposed at the compression lock. I simply filed down the exposed portion which does not affect operation imo.

Excellent knife
I have a good overall knife collection including multiple striders/microtechs/hinderers/Spydercos/heretics. This is a great knife, bang-4-buck.

Unique and built for purpose
This knife is incredibly versatile. You can open it at least 4 ways. 1) thumb hole. the classic spyderco method. 2) Emerson opening. If you have the knife in your pocket and pull it out, the rounded hook on top of the blade catches on your pocket and opens the knife. It's not perfect, but with enough use i think it will become more consistent. 3) flip via the dorsal nub. opens like a dream. 4) just flip it out. the blade has high mass relative to the knife, so if you grip the handle and flip your wrist it pops open. alot of knives do this, but this one does it beautifully.

Have some patience with the flippy hook
Love the blade shape, size, and balance. I bought it to use as a skinning knife because of the nice curve. The flip hook thing does take a little getting used to, but I like it now.
