Pfaltzgraff Chateau Cream 16-Piece Stoneware Dinnerware Set, Service for 4, Off White

I wanted this set for my winter dishware, so I read the reviews, was satisfied and bought it. When I received it, I was elated to find this dishware is such good quality. It said in the description that it is stoneware, so I was anticipating sturdier heavier pieces rather than bone china. Honestly, I wasn't sure what the finish would be, and was so happy that it is a high gloss finish (easy to clean). I tried to capture that in my photo. It was professionally packed (triple boxed) and every piece arrived in perfect condition. Thank you Platzgraff and Amazon!

The design of this pattern is so beautiful. I love the vintage charm they have with the scalloped edges and rustic red on the edges. Unfortunately they do not hold up well. I’ve read all the reviews and most are good, but I have to ask if they’ve actually been used each day as I have the past five months? I take great care of them, but still there are several chips and each and every plate and bowl are marred by scratches from utensils. This is my fourth set of this brand (Yorktown, Gazebo, Winterberry) and I’ve never had a quality issue. I expect more from Pfaltzgraff.

I love the appearance and feel of my dishes. They match my kitchen perfectly. They are beautiful.The only thing I am a little disappointed about is while cutting a pork chop, the knife left marks on the plate. I had to work really hard to make them to come out. That should not happen with regular use. I hand wash all my dishes and take very good care of them. I’ve had my other set of Pfaltzgraff dishes for well over 20 years. I just donated them for the new ones. I never had that problem with the old ones.

These are so pretty, however we have had a few things "slide" off as there is no grip or raised edges whatsoever on the plates- so it's like balancing your meal on an ice rink. We kept the bowls as ice cream bowls, since they are nice and deep. The coffee cups are great as well! The dinner and salad plates, unfortunately are stored in the back of the cabinet. Also pretty to display.

These dishes are very attractive and sturdy but I wish they were not so heavy. The bowls are very large and the cups are large too. I did buy 3 sets for a total of 12 place sets.

I love these dishes. Very solid and nice finish. Only thing I didnt realize was the pattern is actually a texture on the plates. Sometimes food dries in those little divots and requires a little extra scrubbing. Need to rinse them right away so food doesnt stick.

I purchased this as a wedding gift and the bride loved it. I was so enchanted, I considered purchasing a set for myself.

I’ve gotten so many compliments on this set! The pieces are heavy, like stoneware is, and look amazing!
