Zebra Sharbo X Refill 0.5 Ball Point Pen, Royal Blue Ink (RJSB5-RBL)

4 instead of 5 stars simply because the "gel" isn't as smooth writing as I expect "gel" pens to be (e.g. compared to many other gel pens that I have and use).I did buy this as a refill for Rotring pens, and it unfortunately didn't quite fit (this is slightly too large in terms of diameter -- I'm thinking of sanding it down!). Of course, that isn't Zebra's fault (since it's a refill for their own pens), so no stars off for that, but it is worth noting.

Make sure you read the fine print and product features. These are NOT the regular ballpoint. These are the gel ball point that last for only a page or 2 of writing. Can be found much cheaper elsewhere. For what it is I only rate it 3 stars because of how fast it runs out.

These write very well. They don't require pressing down, and glide over the paper nicely. The ink is a true black and well pigmented. They work perfectly in the livescribe 3, and I prefer them to the livescribe refills. If you have very small hand writing, you may want a finer point as the lines are a bit thick.

I bought this to use on my Livescribe 3 pen. It fits and writes well, but runs out very quick! If you plan on ordering these, make sure you get several as they will not last you long at all.

Good smooth consistent writing ink but doesn't dry as quick as I would like.

I feel completely ripped off. I bought this as an alternative to the generic Livescribe ink for the SmartPen3 because someone left a review on the generic page saying that this cartridge was far better, smoother, etc. It seems like a lot of others agree but mine worked for TWO DAYS and now will not write regardless of what I do, not to mention the fact that it pooped out during pretty important notes in class. I've tried writing on erasers because that usually works with most pens - that didn't work. I've also tried heating up the tip a little bit with a lighter and that didn't work either. Waste of money. Would not recommend.

I have been using Livescribe pens for several years - from the Echo to the Livescribe 3. One constant problem has been the ink. No longer. These ink refills write smoothly with vibrant blue ink. No blotching or smearing. These are the best refills I have found. I will definitely buy them again

Writes beautifully in my Livescribe 3 digital pen, but lasts me barely a week, and you only get one refill for ~$6; gel technology requires a larger volume of ink than traditional ballpoints, I think.
