Astro 3055 3-Inch Mini Air Polishing Kit

I paint cars for a living, and do my own buffing. Bought this for the times when my DeWalt electric is just not right for the job (tight areas, missed a nib, bodyman scratched a bumper, etc.). This fits the bill perfectly! By manufacturers description, it's 1 speed, no adjustments, but have found I can squeeze the button a bit less to get about half speed (you need strong fingers and a soft touch, but it works).Wasn't sure about the included pads (managed to ruin the foam cutter on it's first use, user error), but I'm liking the wool pad. Getting zero linting from it.As far as how long it will last? No one knows, but I have an Astro stripe remover tool that I've used the Heck out of for 15+ years, and it shows no signs of stopping. Build on this little buffer seems quite solid. Also, it's pretty small, and I have long fingers, but that has not been an issue. It fits well in my hand, and is easy to control. Buddy of mine has a Blue Point that is about twice the size, but really doesn't do a better job.

Tool works great. It spins super fast. I ordered diferent 3" wool pads and used the pads from the kit to buff out my firewall that I had just painted, clearcoated, and wet sanded. I recommend a regulator so you are able to dial in your speed.

I was a bit skeptical about buying this little guy because it was so cheap, but it worked out in my favor! The unit performs well, I polished an entire boat with it, only a small issue - the trigger was sticky, wanted to stay stuck on every now and then. I lubed it with air tool oil as called for, and it seemed to get better with more use. Not a big issue. I didnt use the pads that came with it, they looked so cheap i didn't want to spend the rest of the day cleaning up pad fur that flung all over my boat. I bought a set of TCP global pads that worked perfect with the hook and loop backing pad included in this kit. Overall, if you are looking for a mini buffer, this is a decent one to get. - By the way, it sucks more air than other models. I used a 30 gallon 5 HP compressor (unknown CFM) and i would have to let it build about ever 10 minutes of use. Not a big issue, just thought I would throw it out there in case somebody thinks they will be able to run this off a pancake compressor or something.

I have purchased 4 of these kits over the last 5 years. Not only do they all still work, but the product is consistent from order to order. It spins a little fast, so i would recommend putting a flow regulator inline.

I used this for the first time since my purchase recently with 2 of the included wheels. Obviously the type of polish you are using with determine your results, but this tool is great for getting the job done. It's extremely compact, allowing easy one hand use instead of your whole upper body when using a large buffer. I tackled fuel tanks, 6 wheels, and a grille on my Peterbilt almost effortlessly with this tool, highly recommended.

Good little polisher for the price. I used it for polishing oxidized plastic headlamps, and it worked great. Very happy with the purchase.

This is a great tool, compact design makes it very handy to get into small areas, nice case keeps everything together and clean when not in use. I highly recommend this tool.
