I like these because the toe part is shaped broad and wide; this feature is very important,,,,,,overall, they are very comfortable with good support. 2 hook & loop straps allow them to be taken on and off easily. These come with comfortable insoles so I didn't need to replace them with my custom made insoles,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,For me, the size 12, medium width fit me well,,,,,,,,i ordered up 1/2 a size from another brand where a 11.5 size was fitting me good, but every brand fits different, so order 1/2 a size bigger, but keep same width and hope that you get lucky like I did,,,,,,,,,these are lighter and more comfortable than 'new balance' brand models, wear longer and are much less expensive,,,,,,there is no slippage in the heels,,,,,,,BUY THESE,,,,,,,

I was very nervous about ordering shoes on line, but I had searched and searched locally for good quality walking shoes with velcro straps, to no avail. I ordered these based on the reviews. Good choice. I love them. The toes are just a fraction wider than expected and the heels are just a fraction narrower than expected, resulting in a very comfortable but secure fit. They look good enough to pass as dress shoes if nobody inspects them too carefully. I'm almost afraid to wear them too much. I don't want to wear them out.Update #1: I'm tempted to raise my rating to 5 stars. Everything I said about them before, I still agree with. These are really good shoes for general walking.Update #2: I've worn these shoes for quite some time now, and I only like them better. The soles wear like iron, the uppers are solidly built, the fit is comfortable, even after putting them through many miles. These are my go-to shoes. I wear them for hiking, general walking around, working in my hobby shop and I even sneak them by as dress shoes. I really like the velcro fasteners-so much easier than tieing laces when you start getting a little old and stiff. So I'm upgrading my review to 5 stars.Update #3: Over the past 7 or 8 years I have bought 5 pair. One had a short life because I wore them mountain hiking. That was too much. I just got my 5th pair in. I plan to buy it again.

This is the first time I have taken the chance and bought a shoe via Amazon. I was a bit hesitant cause you didn't get to "feel" the shoe and immediately ask "a salesperson" for a bigger/smaller/wider shoe like in a brick & mortar store. And the prospect/hassle of a potential return was always in the back of my mind. So, before taking the plunge, I decided to go "old school" and visit some mall shoe stores. First store didn't have the style I was looking for (velcro) and my size & color. Second store - walked in and was "browsing" for at least 5 minutes. Nobody came to see if I wanted assistance - so I walked out. Third store - hundreds of shoes/boxes stacked on shelves - men's, women's, kid's, dress, athletic, casual. But not a person in sight to assist for the shoe I was kinda looking for. Wasted a good hour, plus my energy & gas.So, with the thought of not liking the shoe for a variety of reasons and having to return it, I gave this Amazon shoe I was looking at a "go." I first went to their 3D "shoe sizing" scan, but was a bit skeptical with the size it recommended cause I always had to buy a larger/wider shoe. I was tempted to buy a 1/2 size larger than what they recommended, but did not. I also read the reviews about cushioning in the sole but again this was a personal thing that you could only judge after trying them on.But the price was OK, and with free delivery, I decided to buy it. After receiving the shoes, I waited till evening, when your feet is larger/swollen from the day's walking, to try them. Tried them with "thin", dress shoe-like socks first. "Surprise!" the shoe fit perfect - not too long, tight or narrow. Next, with the athletic socks, the shoes were also a good fit and in both cases, the insoles had certain cushioning/air pockets near the balls of the toes and on the sides that I think will make walking with this shoe over, e.g. hard concrete sidewalks and mall surfaces much less taxing on the feet.A few concerns. 1) The "tongue" of the shoe is too short - barely longer than the upper velcro strap. As the shoe wears, this may become an issue if the tongue loses its firmness and falls into the shoe to make it harder to get on. 2) The velcro straps seem to be a bit "thin" - I hope it will withstand the many pulls it will take over the life of the shoe. 3) The sole of the shoe, especially at the front, toe-end, is also a bit thin. This probably helps to make the shoe lighter, but as you all know, many times the shoes nowadays fail at the glue joint of the sole at the front toe - or the heel separates. (No such thing as "old school" sewing of the sole to the shoe, unless you're willing to pay hundreds of $$$).So, in conclusion, I am glad I trusted the shoe scan - the shoe fits perfect, but I only give 4 stars cause of the concerns above, and I don't know how long this Made in China shoe will last (I realize this is a function of quality of make & assembly and usage).After actual usage and over the years, I hope to add to this review, as I have done for other products. As I say "most things are good when they are new; the true test of quality is after the passage of time."

Good quality shoe. Holds up great and sole is thick enough we were able to have drop toe braces custom made for them. Nice white leather is easy to clean and stay looking good for several years. The Velcro closures are great for arthritic hands. They come in Wide sizes too. I've ordered several pairs of this particular shoe over the years for my aging uncle.

good fit comfortable

I have been wearing these for years, getting about 12 months of intermittent use from them. They don’t fall apart, I have to wear them out. I buy whatever color is the lowest price at the time of purchase. I have big wide feet and they fit well.

They are not as comfortable as my new balance shoes past and they took a long shipping time to arrive. They are light weight and good quality and run true to size.Exception of being Narrow for a ee wide. They'll do for doctor's visits I will be using another shoe for walking everday.

These shoes are still a good value and are pretty well made. However, this pair is uncomfortably tight through the toe-box, though it is the same size i have been wearing for years. I don't think my feet have expanded, as I recently got a pair of hiking shoes in the same size the fit well.Overall, I would suggest you get these a half-size larger than usual for a more comfy fit.

My husband needed an extra wide shoe as he is diabetic. These are a great shoe for him. Very comfortable and cool! They are about a 1/2 size less than what he normally wears as he got the width he needed.

Have been buying these shoes for years now. They fit very well on my wide feet and are very comfortable. Also they give good support and are very long wearing. Wear them daily and only need a new pair every couple of years. Highly recommend.

Not only is these sneakers easy to put on and comfortable, but they are also very durable. I have worn mine everywhere for more than a year and a half and they are still serviceable. As a result, The Propet Lifewalker Strap Sneaker has become my footwear of choice.
