I use these on all my guitars
Jimmi Hendrix got me started using these strings. I still have the set he gave me at Woodstock.

Easy on the fingers.
I'm a 60+ year hobby player and have used a lot of different brands of string but never 'silked' strings. They do feel good on your fingers, especially when you are getting back to the guitar after a prolonged absence. The trade off is the tonality or brightness but that may or may not be important to a lot of folks. I will probably stick with these for a while to see how quickly they wear (rust, grime, etc.). I don't mind the slightly muted sound as it is a good tradeoff for the finger comfort (at least until I get some callouses).

Very playable for fingerpickers but not a good tone
Other strings were hurting my thumb & fingers as a fingerpicker, so I tried these. Sure enough, there was no pain, they're easy to play. But I hated the tone & took them off my Yamaha Transacoustic LL-TA after a few days. The high B & E strings were way too thin & pingy for my taste, and there wasn't much bass. They kinda sounded like beginner strings to me. If I ever go back to silks to give my fingers a break, I'll get them only in medium (13) gauge instead of the .12's., and I'll probably try some other manufacturer.

Awesome Strings!
These silk and steel martins feel and sound great on my Taylor 210! I love how in between bright and mellow they sound. Not to mention how they feel under my fingers. I would check them out if you are on the fence. Also didn't pop on me when trying to tune up like the Ernie Balls that I tried before these.

They sounds and feel so good, but they dont last for more than a few days. kinda disappointing
They feel and sound awesome, i'll give it that, but they rust ultra fast. Can't be worth 14-15 bucks on sale for 8.99, that's kinda ridiculous. Don't get these if you want to actually play your guitars. looks great if you don't touch them with your hands, kinda the whole point of playing on them....

Great quality and sounds
I bought these only for my guitars. They sounds good and response really good when you hammer. These are easy on the fingers too.

These are not silk and steel. These are 80/20 strings with silk wrapped on the end only.
Some reviews are reviewing Martin Marquis silk and steel which are entirely different strings that wrap the entire string in silk. These are standard acoustic strings with about 1/2 inch of silk thread at the ball end to protect the bridge slot. These are indentical to Martin SP 80/20 except for the protective ball end wrap. Bright, woody, loud..my favorite strings.

Great sound!
Great strings for the price! They have a bright yet mellow sound.Make sure you know the difference between a classical and acoustic guitar before ordering these. These would destroy a classical guitar if used on it.
