I recently had to switch to an IPhone for work, and I was dreading it because of the ways in which Apple is a pain in the ass. One of those ways is the absence of a 3.5 mm audio out port in the bottom of the phone. This solves that problem nicely. I have a pair of One tripple driver in-ear headphones with volume controls and a mic for phone calls, and I was concerned that they wouldn’t work on my new iPhone XR, but they work perfectly with this adapter. The connection on both side is also nice and solid, and 3.5 mm plugs click in quite firmly.So this adapter solved some problems. However, I do remain concerned that using the main port for headphones is going to put a lot of stress on it over time, going in and out of pockets, but that’s Apple’s fault for doing away with the 3.5 mm port, and not this adapter’s fault.

I'm hoping to hear back from customer support soon (if I do, I'll update this review accordingly), but as of right now I hear absolutely nothing coming through my Sony headphones. My iPhone XR shows that music is playing, the volume is at max, but it's just dead air. I don't know if this is an incompatibility issue or what... I'm not too upset (the cost doesn't merit getting too mad), but I am disappointed that I can't listen to my music at work today.*EDIT* - Holy cow you guys! I don't think this review even went live before I had a representative reach out to me and a new adapter on its way, free of charge. The new one works great. The representative was super. I couldn't be happier with the product. Definitely recommend.

This dongle has only one purpose - to connect earphones to an iPhone lighting input - and it fails miserably. Half the time the iPhone (a new XS) does not recognize the dongle. The other half it will connect but randomly disconnect for no reason. And when it does disengage, whatever you are listening to on your earphones comes blaring out of the iPhone's speaker. So it is just useless, it's also annoying to anyone sharing the subway, an elevator, a sidewalk.I tried to cheap out and avoid Apple's more expensive cable. My mistake. I did contact the Seller and received no response.

I’d contacted the seller of this adapter before purchasing it to see if it worked with telephone headsets. They assured me it would. It didn’t. When I plugged it into my headset and my iPhone XS, I heard popping, clicking, and static sounds - just as I did with the Apple adapter. Sadly, this adapter cost considerably more than the Apple version, but works no better. Now I have this adapter, and the Apple adapter, neither of which work. Both work fine for music, but I’d contacted the seller specifically to ask about telephone headsets and it doesn’t work for that.

Before buying this adapter so I could use my Bose wired earbuds i was probably on my 6th adapter they either make a crackling noise or they would cut off and go back on.and a few that would not work at all .Search is over this one working well with my iPhone 8 Sounds good they look cheap but they work no messages pop up saying not compatible with this device forget about any other one buy this one I did the searching for you now it’s up to you The photo shown are the ones that do not work or at least they didn’t work for me on my iPhone 8 when Apple took away the regular Jack they made it necessary to buy an adapter to use normal wired headphones The ones shown in the photo are the ones that did not work but this little Simple adapter has worked wonderfully since I received it absolutely no issues sounds great no noises no drop outs of sound.

Plugged it in... it played for a minute or so and then stops. Error message on phone saying something like "not compatible with iPhone."Piece of. Stay away.

When I upgraded my phone, I struggled to find an aux cord for my car that was compatible. After returning two items that didn’t work at all, I bought this & now I can listen to my tunes & podcasts worry free.

False advertising. This is a headphone extension only. No mic, no mic line. tested extensively with an behringer Ultravoice, adapters, and a Q502 mixer on the new Iphone SE 2020 & Smule.Does not carry mic/audio input, only output. In fact, audio actually will play OUT of/THRU the mic and the handset mic will be used. (I actually heard music coming from my XLR mic 0.o... (This may damage ribbon mics and other high end gear, due to this product's lie)DO NOT BUY IF YOU NEED TO USE A MIC.
