Bird Brainteasers: Puzzles, Games & Avian Trivia

This is the perfect little book to give to any birder for any occasion...especially for someone who is in hospital or confined in recovery because it it a LITTLE book 4 inches wide by 6 inches long! It contains every kind of puzzle, birdy quotes, games and best of all the answers can be found in the book! It's a fun book for any one who loves birds!

The content of this book is excellent--varied, well researched, attractive graphics. A wide range of puzzles which may never get solved, because the book is so short and so dense it's nearly impossible to hold it open, much less write in it. SO frustrating.Honestly, I can't imagine what the publisher was thinking. Most books designed to be written in have a spine that can lay flat on the page. That's not happening in a book six inches long and an inch thick.I'm attaching a picture of the book held open by a 5-pound dumbbell which is the only way I finally found to do it. I don't think that's going to be very practical for my sister, for whom this was intended as a gift. Perhaps her son can hold it open to the puzzles on a copier (and leaning on it with all his might) to make a copy she can write on. Other pictures show size relative to a remote control and to a more traditional puzzle book. I'm sorry the author's publisher didn't give this more thought, because the content is great.

I bought this as a gift for a fellow birder and we had a lot of fun working through the word puzzles together.

I'd give this little book 4 1/2 stars if I could. I love birds and birdwatching; I guess I'm at an intermediate level. I haven't read the entire book yet, but thumbing through most of the puzzles, a lot of them looked very easy, definitely at a novice level. I only wish there were some more challenging ones. The title "Brain Teasers" is a bit misleading.But there was lots of informative ( and silly) trivia. So this book probably does offer something for anyone with any interest in birds. There are also silly children's jokes. This would be a nice book for older children.I will keep this one for myself, it will be great for killing time at the airport, etc.. But I like it enough to buy a couple more copies for members of my bird loving family. A great stocking stuffer!

A nice little book with some nice puzzles. It will help fill the time between bird spotting as a personal distraction and as conversation starters with my fellow Birders. The smaller dimensions make it easy to fit in my gear bag.

I got this book for an uncle for Christmas because he is a puzzle and bird enthusiast. He immediately started working the puzzles and was very excited about the book.

Fun book for my bird-watching mother for Christmas. It's a small book, but would be super easy to toss in a bag and work on while waiting.

I love this book. as does my Dad whom I gifted one to :) It has a wide variety of puzzles to keep your brain buzzing, and is full of little trivia bits that are just a joy to learn ... and all about birds! :D My Dad said before he even started on the puzzles, he went through this little gem cover to cover reading all of the trivia bits! Kudos to the writer, and kudos to the seller for bring it to us!
