This is my fav book
I have another on Thyroid but its very technical, I do like the other but this one is super easy to read, and has a lot of lists to help you navigate this irritation in my son's life. Nothing worse than Chronic fatigue in a teen. They're just starting life and they're sucker punched. Well ok, there's worse that can happen but Doctors are very unhelpful!!! His Dr knew June 2020 and never told us and even when Pediatrician told Endo to chop chop and help us, she still didn't admit it was Hashi until I flat out asked her to confirm and then never told us ways of helping his body with food etc.....just here's a pill. People: pick up this book its very helpful. I guess we will always need to let the Dr tell us what we have but then educate ourselves on ways to care for ourselves because they won't.

A must read for anyone with an Autoimmune Thyroid Condition
I read this book from an entirely different perspective then most, I have Graves disease which is another autoimmune disease of the thyroid. Although this book is for geared for Hashis disease it is a wealth of knowledge for Graves patients as well. We have the same testing, a lot of same struggles, and the same fight on our hands. This book help to explain the different tests and what they mean, the different antibodies and what they do, the different games our immune system is playing with our bodies. Overall now I have a better knowledge of what is going on with my body which helps on the days that I’m feeling run down or over whelmed. Now when I go to the doctor I feel as I’m more informed and can understand more of what is being addressed. I enjoyed this book, they always say knowledge is power and some of the things mentioned in this book give me hope and a better understanding of what is going on in my body. This book is well worth it and is a must read for anyone dealing with an autoimmune disease of the thyroid. Its definitely an eye opener and lets you know that you’re not alone! Love it!! I will definitely refer to it for years to come.

Your new all-inclusive reference book for thyroid issues!
Dr. Henderson does a great job of not only explaining the complexities of thyroid disjunction but also showing us a clear path to move through it. As an endocrinologist, she uses scientific studies to validate her words, and her time in private practice, working with patients on all parts of the thyroid spectrum, proves out those findings and her recommendations. This book is a valuable handbook for showing those with thyroid challenges how to approach getting the right tests, managing food sensitivities and supplementation, and walking through the many options for thyroid treatment. As a Hashimotos patient, I’ve read many, many books on this subject and can highly recommend Dr. Henderson’s book. Whether you’re starting this journey or are in a place where you’re ready to tweak your care and health, this book meets your needs. Read it and put it on your shelf; you’ll refer to it again and again. I already have.

So much information!
After recently being diagnosed with Hoshimoto’s I wanted to learn as much as I can about this autoimmune disease. After reading reviews on a few popular books, this one seemed the most well received. It did not disappoint. They’re not selling you any gimmicks. They break down what the disease does, explains how to read your blood work results, explains different treatments and supplements, things to avoid, etc.. It really has a lot of great information that can help you on your journey of understanding Hoshimoto’s.

Eye opening book! Thyroid treatment isn’t “one size fits all”
Fantastic and informative book! Written from both patient and doctors view so easy to understand and comprehensive. The authors seem to really understand the nuances of thyroid issues and it reads that way. I believe Dr. Henderson is ground breaking on integration of traditional and complimentary medicine. She explains in book there is not “one fits all” approach to Hashimoto treatment. It was interesting to learn the nuances of TSH/T3/T4 blood tests. Treatment is not just take a pill. Each patient responds differently to medicines, environments, diet, etc. I believe this book will help many many patients suffering from this chronic disease. I believe patients will become empowered when reading this book and wind up receiving better medical care and OUTCOMES!

Great information!
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease over 30 years ago and was NEVER told about a diet plan. Maybe they didn’t know then, but it complicated the diet for celiac and T2 diabetes I was “blessed” with.
