Ayyye laddies, so there I was knee deep in cannon balls, when all of a sudden a salty sailing vessel approached my starboard. With a gaze through my handy looking glass I picked up from this merchant, I was able to thwart the loss of all my crew's booty. Looking impeccable, all my laddies claimed me, the captain, a master of my trade. Stalwart and proud, the looking glass worked like witchcraft, as it made those distant images quite large and in good quality (despite being a barrel of grogg down). Would pay far more coconuts for something of this amazing quality!

Gave this to my 11 year old grandson for his birthday. He was impressed with the leather case and London insignia. It is well made, and heavy, with a solid feel to the brass, and doesn't feel like a toy, but has the feel of an authentic"relic". Once we realized one has to push it all the way in and then slowly pull out until visuals become clear, (not turn like binoculars) he could see for quite a distance. I highly recommend it for 8 and up. Way too authentic for a preschooler or toddler.

Absolutely get this item. I have an old souled child. She loves exploring, writing, and vintage things. This was part of her birthday present and she loves it. It is made of brass and leather. Its gorgeous and works exactly as it is suppose to. And its a great price.

This looks really cool but I was not able to get it to focus on anything. It could be because I wear glasses and wasn't able to put it closer to my eye. Or maybe it's just decorative and not functional. Still cool looking.
