Always try to use Genuine Manufacturer parts when working around sensitive areas, protecting your expensive engine should not be a cost cutting exercise, this part costs about $10 - $15 more than an aftermarket filter. Also heard of aftermarket filters causing the engine light to come on due to the lack of or faulty (probably cheap) check valve.
