Before you install the Gate Operator outside wire everything inside your home on a bench in order to test that everything functions. More importantly that you have an understanding how it works plus test all the settings.This Gate Operator kit comes with everything you need to install including floor anchors which I did not use as a they have a 9/16 inch diameter and I only had a 1/2 inch masonary bit. No big deal as I had 1/2 inch expansion bolts. The other tools you will need is a hammer drill, adjustable wrench, chain breaker tool, screwdrivers which will include a small flat blade for wires that go to control board. If you are not going to use the U bolts that come with this kit for a cleaner install like I did you will need more tools. Drill bits, cut off wheel, metal file, self taping sheet metal screws and washers.My gate required some tweaking since I only had a small gap for chain to move. I was able to elongate a few holes to adjust chain perfectly. I do not believe most will have this issue but it is wise to have all the tools to resolve this if you need to drill a hole or make the chain bracket slot have a bit more adjustment. This is not Topens fault but my custom gate which I have to modify in order to fit the way I want it to.Once you have the motor secured to concreate, chain has been cut, gate opens, closes with no binding when disengauged from motor you may unhook chain and continue with wiring.You need to provide the 120v wire from your home. Best to use Liquid Tight conduit from Big Box Store along with the conduit fitting as this motor has a hole in the bottom for it. I also have an optical sensor and coaxial cable from my old Multicode Reciever box going to the bottom as this unit has two holes for bringing wires in. The GO has grommets to keep bigs out.The wiring is very well documented in the manual. The only thing I would add is that you may have more than one remote receiver connected to this unit. I current have the Topens remotes plus my old original Multicode remote with Sonoff LV opening gates which are programmed to my cars already. Connection 15 and 16, see pic is for push button opening. Anything that closes a circuit may be used like the Sonoff LV to open and close the gate making it a smart gate. There is enough space to put whatever extra receiver box you decide on top of the motor, see pic. I will strongly advise on getting the Optical sensor to be safe and it is very easy to to add. The only thing you will need is wiring as sensor does not have any. When you are testing the Optical sensor indoors make sure to have the reflector a few feet apart as it does not work real close to main unit that transmits the beam.When placing the magnet be sure to line them up with markings on the side of gate motor. Cover must be off to see markings, see pic. This gate does not stop right away when it reaches the magnet but slows down to a stop which I like. Make sure to adjust the force pots on the board. Don’t crank them all the way up to full power. Start low then gradually adjust to lowest setting that allows the gate to open.In summary the Topens CK1200 is a very complete Gate Operator with all parts needed to install. As noted above, if you do not want to have all these u bolts and or looking for a more streamline/custom install you will have to modify some brackets. The good news is that the brackets are beefy, thick metal and you will have no issues cutting them to fit your needs if you choose to do so. The customer service is 5 stars, answering all my questions via Amazon before the purchase. If there are any problems I will be sure to update this review. When my 2nd gate fails beyond repair I will replace it with another CK1200. I may even do a video of install if time permits for those who are hesitant to tackle this project.PS. Pressure washing my driveway on the to do list ;)

Hubby installed this with no prior experience and did an excellent job! I programmed the 2 controls and gate settings and did it fairly quickly. We have had it up and running for a couple of months and I absolutely love it. I have yet to figure out if there is a speed option, I wished it closed a little bit faster as I am always in a hurry for some reason. I recommend this product.

When I came across this on Amazon I was surprised at the reasonable pricing. Wasn’t sure what to expect as far as quality, but again surprised upon receiving it, seems very well built and heavy duty hardware, much better than so many things produced in China. Installation was easy enough for anyone with a little mechanical aptitude. The instructions leave a little to be desired but was good enough to get it done. Hopefully the electronics prove to be durable. It’s working very nicely on my gate, a board on board 16x6 ft cedar fence gate of approx. 500 to 600 lbs. I did not rate tech support as I have not as of yet needed to contact them. I will update this if I do need tech support in the future.

When I received this gate opening, I opened the box and my first taught was, I do t think this little thing will open my 18’ gate. However when I got it installed I was very surprised how easily and smooth it worked. It seems sturdy enough to do its job and hope it is durable. Very happy with this product. Thanks.

This opener works perfectly. I’ve had no trouble with it at all.I originally ordered the wrong opener and TOPENS corrected my error quickly by sending this unit.It installed easily and works as expected.

Fairly easy install. Got highly responsive support from the company, who shipped me a new control board and helped me hook it up. Local company quoted me $4,000 to buy and install gate opener. With this product I got it done for about $500 in total.

I need to add an extension to the gate opener, i bought an extra chain, but i cant remove the chain rivot out to cut the chain - i made a fixture to hold the chain, and have hammered the rivot for 10 - 15 minutes, but the rivot wont come out. What am i doing wrong ? is there a trick to removing the chain riovt ? please help.

I am very happy with this gate opener. The system is compact and robust.I have it connected to a cantilevered 24ft opening gate, overall length is about 40ft.The installation was simple and straight forward. Had to play with the controls a bit to fine tune the stop/reverse setting. Have just gone through a cold weather snap of -20C for about 14 days.The opener worked every morning.Would happily recommend this product for any such application.
