Best lancet device ever, seriously!
I've been a Type I Diabetic since the '80s.I've lost count of the number and kinds of lancet devices I've used over the years.Hands down, no contest, this is the best one. It is so gentle! After I think at least 5-7 years, my original one broke, most likely from so many drops. I'm pretty rough with my meter case, as I toss it around with my backpacks. The internal spring wouldn't cock 80% of the time, but I was still able to get it to work by playing with it until I was too frustrated with it.I ended up using a spare Bayer device, and I couldn't believe how much it hurt to test now. It literally reminded my of the old '80s devices I used to use!Even though my fingers are quite beat up at this point, I still am able to use the 2 of 10 depth setting. I had to dial it back from 2.5 because it was hurting. 2 is perfect for me.I immediately searched and found this one on Amazon. I bought a few to make sure I'm set for a good long while.Note:This device - Accu-Chek Softclix PLUS Lancet Device originally came included with the Accu-Chek Compact Plus meter. This was the meter with the 10 count strip cartridge drum. The lancet device slides onto / along side of the meter. That's what the channel along the body is, if you were wondering. There is another device - Accu-Chek SoftClix Lancet Device I had never seen before. It came up on the Amazon search as well, and I bought it too. This device is literally just a much smaller version of the above device. Think of it like Bic Pen, but shorter. It takes the same lancers, and looks and feels to be engineered the same way.

Best lancing device and most expensive
This device is hard to find. It is expensive for what it is, since most other devices can use generic cheap lancets. This one only uses proprietary lancets that are not compatible with the generic ones. But the cheap generic products don't work well. This lancing device holds the lancets with a good grip. I can feel the lancet click in place when I insert it. Because the lancet is a flat design, it won't turn in the device. When you are done, you push the button and the lancet falls out. The generic brands don't hold the lancets tightly in the device and when you try to twist the cap off, eventually the lancet just spins around. So you have to hold the lancet in the device. Because the lancets in the cheap devices move in the device I find the often the needle is bent. This device is the gold standard of lancing devices. But it seems like accu chek doesn't make it any more, because they only sell the device with multi lancet drums on their site.

My diabetic lancer.
I had one of these before and liked it a lot but i dropped it and broke it. This is a fine lancer, but it is a little expensive,I do like that it is easy to use. It is not always available and I had to wait for several weeks ( and used a sub standard lancer) for it to become available. I do like it though and would recommend it to others.

Great
I bought this for a backup of my one just like it that is the only one that works for me. However it says it comes with the clear cap and it did not. The clear cap is what you use on your arm, etc. and I ONLY use my arm so I need the clear cap. Sigh. 😟

I absolutely love Accu-Chex lancing devices
I absolutely love Accu-Chex lancing devices. I get cheaper brand meters but only like using the Accu-Chex lancing pens. They are easier to use when inserting lancets in and easy to eject them when done.
