Surprised us at being a really good movie.

On the SURFACE this movie LOOKS like a "Christian, family friendly movie." But this movie in reality tries to normalize every sexual predator tactic in the book! It teaches BOTH NAIVE parents AND children that "it's OK" to: allow children to make "special friends" one-on-one with an adult who seems to care A LOT about a particular, vulnerable child, it's OK to share and keep secrets (they are "just cute, silly secrets" in the movie), it's OK to go off alone into the woods with said "caring adult," and it's "OK to let a 16-year-old move into a cabin of 12-year-olds."In the movie is also horrifying because it normalizes bullying and NOT TELLING TRUSTED ADULTS! There are many many times where people are bullied in this movie. Another reason why the 12-year-old is struggling. Then the movie shows an adult camp counselor taking the struggling 12-year-old boy (whose father recently passed away) alone into the woods to chat with him, share secrets with each other, develop a close one-on-one relationship with him.IF parents don't see this as a HUGE RED FLAG, then you will never be able to protect your own children from child molestation!!!!The Boy Scouts of America wrote a fantastic booklet (and training module movie) to guide parents through how to have discussions with your children about sexual predators. You know why? Because child predators thrive in situations where there are a lot of "trusting kids and adults." The fact that this movie sprinkles in scriptures just adds to how disgusting the sexual predators are who wrote this script! Parents, learn how to identify sexual predators and situations to PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN! This movie shows EVERYTHING NOT TO DO. It makes me sick that there are so many 5 star reviews of this horrible, EVIL movie!I can just see a sexual predator in a Christian youth group show this movie at a Christian youth group activity night to start the grooming process.This movie is ALL ABOUT GROOMING FOR SEXUAL PREDATORS! Run away!

I was pleasantly surprised at the biblical perspective of this movie. It provides some of the harsh realities of a kid's life and how you can deal with them. You don't have to be a Christian to learn about overcoming fear. I think kids can learn a lot from the movie no matter what their religion is. There are bullies in the movie, another harsh reality. This movie is not about rainbows and unrealistic happiness of being a Christian, but it does address issues that many kids deal with from many perspectives. And yes, some of the cast seem a little old for their roles...and the ending is predictable. But overall, it was clean, funny, and had a good message.

Wholesome movie with good values.

First off, not "get yourself saved" kind of Christian movie, but there is mention about Jesus, Christian moral principles and Bible stories. So if you aren't Christian these can be annoying.Second, from the Christian family perspective with 2 little boys (7,9 ) : WE LOVED IT!!!We have this tradition to watch a movie as a family on Friday evening. It is getting harder and harder to find wholesome movies we can watch as a family. Even the pg-13 are very questionable any more.This movie was wonderful. Clean. Easy to watch and a few lessons learned from it. It addresses FEAR and how to heal with it.I recommend it to everyone.

I can't thank the producers and writers enough for creating this fun little movie. It was enjoyable for the whole family and carried a great message. More of this, please!

My family and I have Netflix and Amazon Prime video. We have been disappointed with Netflix and how a lot of their family shows have been pushing different social agendas. We watched Camp Cool Kids last night and we were pleasantly surprised that it was one of the best family oriented movies we have seen in a while. It shared a lot of values that we are trying to teach our children and I just wanted to personally say thank you.

Okay, if you don't want to have the God message in a movie than maybe miss this one. The camp seems to be a Christian Camp and the family a Christian family so there is some of that. It does tie in to the movie's messaging about values, Being a good person, and not feeling alone or left out. It is a family movie and I surely didn't miss anything with the PC messaging not being included, what a breath of fresh air that is now since it is included in almost everything, especially pop culture that is directed towards our youth.

Too bad Hollywood doesn't make more movies like this.
