Really, the utility and feature set are fantastic, and the customer support phone and chat support were very good.The Bad - I consider the "User Documents" completely inadequate, inaccurate, and totally insufficient to understand any but the absolutely minimum first charge and Bluetooth pairing - And the Bluetooth pairing instructions refer to a key that simply is not on the keyboard. To answer some very basic questions my chat support person had to refer me to two different support articles and a link to a search result. For a long standing, major provider of consumer technology products to completely fail to document their product demonstrates billigerent disregard and needlessly renders this product "User Vicious". This would normally take my rating down to 1 or 2 stars, but the otherwise excellent qualities of this product buoyed it up to 3.I expand on my points below.The bad! No user manual is delivered with this product. It does have a piece of cardboard drawings which provide a few steps on how to install your iPad in the case, connect a charger, and "sort-of" describes pairing. The drawings are each accompanied by 3 or 4 word comments in English, French, and Spanish (Portuguese?). Interestingly, the image of the key used to pair is correct on this card but all the online instructions refer to a key that does not exist on the keyboard. The extreamly brevity of the delivered drawings is not a big issue for me at all, as long as online documents are well done and complete. This is unfortunately completely untrue for this product. There is not an online "document" but a very few linked web pages. Further, these web pages are simply inadequate, inaccurate, and incomplete.Consider the basic operational information: 1) The Bluetooth pairing instructions refer to a key that is not on the keyboard; 2) The keyboard, instead, has 2 keys that seem to be Bluetooth related. I you just guess/try you'll probably have no problem pairing with your iPad. But still, the instructions are simply wrong; 3) Further, how are you supposed to use these 2 keys? If you search their site you'll find some words about this, but they are, again, inadequate; 4) The use of the function keys (accessed by pressing the "fn" key plus one of the number keys) are completely missing from the so-called "User Manual"; 5) When you first connect your USB charger cord to the keyboard an amber LED lights up. Reassuring, but what does it mean? Does it turn green when charging is complete? Does it just imply that the the keyboard sees the 5V USB supply? Does it Turn green when charging is complete?I'm sure there are other obvious questions a reasonable user might want answered. During my chat exchange I was referred to 3 different links, 2 of which were "support articles" and the other a search result, in order to provide information regarding the above. I haven't fully reviewed the content of these links but I HOPE that they contain clear answers. The fact that 2 of the links were to "user articles" is simply rediculous. Such articles should contain information on weird problems or much deeper technical questions. This is just keyboard, and having to dig up support articles to get basic operational information is simply unbelievable. For one of the highest price products in its category I find this rediculous and terribly frustrating lapse of basic documentation truly unprofessional and as I said befor, monumentally "user vicious".Amazon should consider suspending sales of this product until this issue is resolved. For Belkin to provide appropriate documents is so trivial they could easily create and make them available online by expending less than 3 man-days if they chose to. That they didn't do so prior to releasing the product is baffling. The fact that it has been released for so long without addressing this is simply billigerent.The Good,,,I love this keyboard/case. I use my iPad for my work, where I use it at my office and home office and take it with me to customer meetings through the week. The backlit keyboard is very helpful for me and I use it all the time. I love being able to immediately separate and reattach the iPad/Case from the keyboard section. I use this constantly because I use the keyboard for typing, often research on the web with the keyboard disconnected, and always commute and interact with customers using both pieces. I also enjoy the ability to easily switch between a landscape or portrait orientation. The Bluetooth connectivity is has displayed no problems at all. The system smartly engages and disengages the Bluetooth link based on whether the keyboard is attached or not, and can also remain connected if the flap on the keyboard is folded behind the keyboard rather than on top of it. I really like this case!Also good, I did have a hardware problem with my case (not good) but the 1 Year Warranty was easily honored. A replacement was at my residence in 5 business days. While nobody wants a problem at all, support when needed is very important and Belkin performed very well in my case. The phone support was manned by native English speakers - I don't mind a bit if somebody has any kind of accent, but it is critical that the dialog be unimpaired. An extreme foreign accent or an unintelligibly heavy New England accent are equally frustrating, so I was happy that my calls were easy and smooth. I'm starting a position as an assistant professor and was considering a light laptop to carry with me when I travel to conferences. When I go to conferences I usually do light work. Mostly editing. Maybe some light proofing. After buying this case I've decided the ipad air 2 is more than enough. I have a full laptop I still use for heavier work... but so far I've been able to do all my work from my iPad.The iPad case. The iPad case is great. It dos not add a lot of weight to the iPad, but it dos make it thicker. It loses the sleek look that you get with an iPad air, but by no means does it look ugly. It does add some weight. Before, the case, I could probably read in bed with the iPad air 2 and not get tired of holding it (some of you will know what I mean). With the case, I can tell it's going to be too heavy for bed reading with one hand. It might be fine with 2 hands.Keyboard. The keboard is great. If you're coming from a normal mac keyboard, you'll think it's exactly the same until you have to delete or type an apostrephe. That's really the only adjustment I had to make in my typing. I had to learn where the delete key and apostrophe keys are located. This is moslty because they've shrunk them to fit on here. So you might find yourself tapping the table as you overreach the first hour or two.Competition. I was considering doing a clamshell case or TYPO case. I was really worried about the weight of these two other keyboards. I had seen this keyboard but wasn't too sure about it. I pulled the trigger once I saw engadget post the sale and when I read that they considered it one of the top iPad air cases/keyboards. I'm really gladd I bought this one. It can hold the iPad in a vetical position which is great for writing papers. It's lighter than the clamshell case. ou can detach the ipad from they keyboard. Plus, if you wan to put it on your lap, the flat keyboard base allows you to do that.Overall. It's perfect for me. It doesn't add a lot of weight. Superb keyboard, you'll just have to get use to new positons for '/; and delete. It does add weight to the ipad, but overall, it doesn't add much weight. The only time you'll probably feel the weight is when you're reading in bed... but get a kindle for that... it'lls give your eyes a break anyways ;). Yes you can get an 11" macbook air, but with this you have a tablet and keyboard when you need it. I'm glad I didn't buy a 2nd laptop. Plus plus the KB sleeps when you close or detach the iPad.One last thing, it's not for people who are hopoing to use the keyboard when the iPad is detached.
