Like they were made for this exact filter. They snapped right on and, an added bonus, could actually have some heat-rejecting effect for the passenger side exhaust header. Such inexpensive insurance against ferrous particles that cause abrasive wear. I’ve used GoldPlug oil plugs for years (and have one on this vehicle, too), but the FilterMag contains on the order of 40-50 times as much magnetic mass according to my mark1-mod0 eyeball. I say USE BOTH (I always buy GoldPlugs on desertcart as well). If you’re not planning on keeping your car past 100k miles, don’t bother. My Subie has 153,000 miles as of July 2020, still runs like brand new (literally; just had new NGK Iridium Spark plugs installed), and I intend to nearly double this mileage. Unaffected by high heat, outside of magnet is sealed against attracting metal from roadway. Won't rust. **Q: What type of magnets are they?** A: Neodymium. Tried them on the filter before installing it. I literally had to pry them off the filter so I could screw the filter on the engine.
