My Western Digital (WD) unit died and I needed something fast. Shipped immediately, purchased 5 WD Red Pro 6TB NAS Internal Hard Drive - 7200 RPM Class (one is a spare, trust me you want a spare on hand); I was up and running in minutes and fully operational in a couple hours.Easy to install, intuitive interface with good online help as needed. Using the included application, Active Backup for Business that implements data deduplication which conserves a huge amount of disk space. This is a great feature. Don't know why it isn't highlighted in the description.I'm sold on Synology! ### ⭐ Very difficult to find supported hardware *by on Reviewed in the United States December 27, 2023* It is hard to find compatible hardware for the Synology devices. They don't support lots of USB devices, hard drives, and more. I would recommend finding a NAS with better device support. Also, they have so many tricks to prevent honoring the warranty. Don't buy this expecting to have good support or warranty help. There are other devices out there so I would not choose Synology. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazingly Loud fan noise + Amazing Performance *by on Reviewed in the United States August 28, 2020* I was running out of space and instead of just buying more hard drives, I figured I might as well upgrade my system as well. I upgraded from the Synology 4 bay NAS DiskStation DS918+ to this RackStation RS1619xs+ for the win. Keep in mind this is a 19" deep and wide. So If you have a small rack, you might want to rethink this NAS. The other thing that might give you pause is that there is no support for SHR. Now that those are out of the way. Why should you upgrade to this NAS? There are a lot of NAS out there but Synology software always makes it an easy choice to select them for my storage needs. The intuitive interface and package are hard to beat. The hardware itself has an Intel Xeon D-1527 Quad-core. You can if you want to install a 10GbE/25GbE NIC. If you don't have a switch to support 10GbE, save your money, and get more ram instead. Speaking of ram, the RackStation RS1619xs+ supports up to 64 GB of it. So short story, long. I love this machine but wish it would not kill my eardrums. This is meant to be in an AV room and not in your livingroom. However pro users don't want to hear that. So while you buy this add a 3rd party fan to your shopping cart. You can thank me later.Pro:Synology DSN softwareFuture proof thanks to PCIe slotsThe pure power of the systemLink AggregationCons:19" deep and wide. May not fit in all racksThe fan noise is rediculous even when there is no load. The 39.3 dB not true on our test runs as 53.1 dBThere is no SHR support :(Does not come with Rail Kit ## Frequently Bought Together - Synology NAS Rackstation (Diskless) (RS1619xs+), 4-bay; 8GB DDR4 - Synology RAM DDR4-2666 ECC UDIMM 8GB (D4EC-2666-8G) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.gr/products/93665293-nas-rackstation-diskless-rs1619xs-4-bay-8gb-ddr4](https://www.desertcart.gr/products/93665293-nas-rackstation-diskless-rs1619xs-4-bay-8gb-ddr4) --- *Product available on Desertcart Greece* *Store origin: GR* *Last updated: 2026-11-06*
