Will this get me close?** A: This glaze will give a slight brown cast to the leaf. We would recommend a test application first when trying to match a particular finish. **Q: Do you put it directly on top of the gold leaf? or seal then add the Antiquing Glaze then more sealor?** A: I treat this as any other stain/glaze. After gold, silver or copper leaf is applied, I let mine dry for an hour or so, then apply the Glaze. Let dry completely 24 hrs. Minimum. Seal as usual. I like this product IF you are looking for a light antique glaze. I wanted darker. I opted to go back and use a dark oak glaze, then seal. Personal preference. **Q: I have a mirror that is covered in a very thin copper sheeting. Will this product work for antiquing it? Will it stick to the metal?** A: I didn't think so, so I just tried it on a mirror and my towel rack and the adhesive sizeor glue DOES stick! So YES you can use it for antiquing metal.
