I've done it and my cherry blossom lights have been twinkling every night for going on 4 yrs now and I live in WI where we get well below zero and they're still on every night. **Q: To the manufacturer: Would the light from an overhead street lamp such as in a park keep them from turning on at dark?** A: They have no problem turning on and staying bright for a couple of hours... after that they fade quickly.
