Review: Perfect shoulder rest. - This is a very nice and attractive looking shoulder rest. Its finish compliments my violin well. It's easily adjustable and fits in my violin case well. It helps tremendously in relieving neck strain which is important to me since I have a neck injury. It also feels very well built. Even the plastic parts are solid and feel well made. It is padded and that padding is comfortable. Overall I'm very satisfied with this shoulder rest.

**Q: Is this made with solid wood?**
A: Yes, it is solid wood! I believe it's maple but I sent an email to the workshop to make sure. We'll let you know shortly!

**Q: Does it work for people with short neck? In adult size violin**
A: The violin is an awkward machine because it is played in an awkward position. I've been back and fourth for years on the use or nonuse of a shoulder rest. Even learning to play cello did not help me. Here is my conclusion. No violin position is perfect. I can see ultimately, it is a mental compromise, and involves a determination to play no matter what. Now to answer your question. The Fiddleman is inexpensive. That is good. It can be adjusted vertically and horizontally. It looks great and is compact. That is also good. I think it will work with someone that has a long neck or short neck. I have a short neck. It is business as usual as far as shoulder rest are concerned.
