I was so tired of having to reset my old router several times a week. Ok, it was old.. This unit obviously takes up much less space. As for ease of installation, it was easy... for my son. I'm technically challenged, to say the least. It also helps to get someone on the phone at the provider end who knows what they're doing. It took three calls. On the third call, the tech asked one question-- "Have you registered the new modem with us?" After going 'round and 'round on two previous calls, it took one step to complete the setup.
