## Description

This stereo installation kit is engineered to help you install an aftermarket 4" tall (Double-DIN) radio into the original vehicle dashboard. Installing an aftermarket radio can upgrade the sound quality and provide additional features the original factory radio couldn't offer but requires this dash kit to make it fit.

Review: Perfect fit on a 2g prius - I recently installed the Metra 95-8240B dash kit in my 2007 Prius and overall I’m pretty happy with it. The fit is actually really good once everything is lined up properly, and it gives the double DIN stereo a clean, almost factory look. The matte black finish matches the interior better than I expected, not 100% perfect but close enough that you don’t really notice. Install took a bit of time tho. The instructions are kinda basic and I had to look up a video to be sure I wasn’t messing anything up. Some of the clips felt a little flimsy at first, but once its all secured it holds pretty solid. Just take your time and don’t force anything or you might crack somthing. One small downside is there were tiny gaps on the sides after install, nothing major but if your picky about details you’ll probly notice it. Also the plastic doesn’t feel super premium, but for the price it’s honestly fine. Overall, good value and does what it’s supposed to do. Not perfect, but definetly worth it if your upgrading your Prius stereo. I’d recomend it 👍

And plastic helps modern head-ends with their WiFi and Bluetooth get their signal out The caveat: Metra helpfully includes a 68ohm resistor, with instructions for bodge wiring it into the back of the factory harness. This would be better served by pigtails on a proper connector. But that isn't the issue. The issue is that 68ohms doesn't work, or at least it did not for me. After putting everything together and seeing the dreaded "check connection" on the MFD Climate screen, I measured the resistor. It was dead on 68.0 ohm. But it did not work. The internet is full of this "68 ohm" recommendation. Where did it come from? I do not know. It is also full of people saying it doesn't work. What worked for me: I guessed that, since IEBus termination is 120ohm, maybe something close to 120 in parallel [60 ohm] might work better. Maybe y'all just got lucky with 68 and tolerance? I added a 330ohm resistor (ie something i had) to get a parallel 56ohm result And that worked just great

I recently installed the Metra 95-8240B dash kit in my 2007 Prius and overall I’m pretty happy with it. The fit is actually really good once everything is lined up properly, and it gives the double DIN stereo a clean, almost factory look. The matte black finish matches the interior better than I expected, not 100% perfect but close enough that you don’t really notice. Install took a bit of time tho. The instructions are kinda basic and I had to look up a video to be sure I wasn’t messing anything up. Some of the clips felt a little flimsy at first, but once its all secured it holds pretty solid. Just take your time and don’t force anything or you might crack somthing. One small downside is there were tiny gaps on the sides after install, nothing major but if your picky about details you’ll probly notice it. Also the plastic doesn’t feel super premium, but for the price it’s honestly fine. Overall, good value and does what it’s supposed to do. Not perfect, but definetly worth it if your upgrading your Prius stereo. I’d recomend it 👍
