Two drives I purchased in Dec., 2015 contained Blue 5400 RPM drives. **Q: 7200rpm or 5400rpm?** A: I think that the HDD spins at 7200rpm. I do know that accessing information on this WD My Book HDD is as seamless (and quick) as my computer's HDD which does spin at 7200rpm. **Q: Does the included backup program compress the files, or can you search backup and get a single file without doing restore?** A: unless you tell it to compress, the files will look like the original ones.
