I have used this machine a lot and it has held up very weli. It isn't waterproof so you need a cover for the electronics if operating in rain. The depth meter is quite accurate and understanding what metal youre detecting gives a good idea. There is a learning curve on the sounds given from different metals but as with all detectors, understanding them takes time and practice. The hunter package is the way to go because all the basics are there to get started right away.
