It is made from 100% granite, measures 8 inches across, and has a generous 3.5-cup capacity. The gray granite is beautiful, and the entire set feels incredibly solid, sturdy, and well-made. This is definitely not a lightweight kitchen accessory! One of the things I love most about this set is how versatile it is. You can use it to crush herbs and spices, make homemade pesto, prepare guacamole, and so much more. It even comes with a bonus avocado tool, which is a nice little extra. I actually purchased this for a very specific reason. I prepare homemade food for my dogs, and I use finely powdered eggshells as part of their diet. After baking the eggshells, I need to grind them into a very fine powder before adding them to their food. A sturdy mortar and pestle is exactly what I need for that process, and this one is a wonderful size for the job. I also appreciate the sturdy base and protective padding underneath to help keep it steady and protect my countertops. The craftsmanship is impressive, and I love that it is both functional and attractive enough to leave sitting on my kitchen counter. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Granite Mortar and Pestle Set

I acquired the UMIEN Granite Mortar and Pestle Set a few years ago (purchase: April, 2023). As far as functionality and aesthetics, there isn't anything I don't like about this mortar and pestle set. I like that it's all granite. Knowing that this item is pure stone makes me trust that nothing bad is going to seep into my food if I crush it. It's also very easy to clean. I haven't had any issues with the surface flaking off or food stains because of the granite material. I love the look of the item. It's a simple design and lends itself to just sitting out on display. Grey is a neutral color as well so if the color of the kitchen changes, then there isn't as much worry about needing to change out this item. The only critique of this mortar and pestle is that it's a little bit heavier than I expected. However, it is made of granite, so I should've expected the heft of the mortar. I would purchase this item again if needed and I would recommend this item to my family.
