**Q: Does it cook brown rice**
A: Yes, I used it last night for the first time.  Only had brown and it worked very well.

**Q: Is there different settings for different rice**
A: To cook brown rice add a little more water than for white rice.  It will boil longer before getting absorbed and the rice will be done just fine.
