You are best off if you can to take it with you to a plumbing store and match it up if you are not positive on the model. This one is an exact match for me. It has threads on the bottom end to screw into the faucet or plumbing side. It also has threads on the top side to then allow the cover to screw on after the insert is installed and in place. So the thread sizing is vital on both sides as well as the length, amount of turn AND direction of turn. These are right and left handed for on-off directions. One is typically considered cold and the other hot and the seats are even colored blue for cold and red for hot. I measured it for you too. It measures 2 1/8" top to bottom. I believe the main thread is considered to be a 1/2" NPT which makes the diameter of the outer thread almost 3/4". Good luck in the journey! Never easy when it comes to identifying and replacing. Yours truly, Rob **Q: Contacted Grohe, need either 45882000 or 45883000 for cold side replacement. Water turns on counterclockwise and off clockwise. Any suggestions?** A: The 4583000 is the cold side cartridge. The cold side is the right side of the sink. It turns clockwise to turn water on and counterclockwise to turn the water off. So if you do need the cold side replacement that's the one to get. But if you actually have one that turns on counterclockwise and off clockwise then it's most likely the hot side cartridge and that one is 45882000. The thing is that with these cartridges if one starts leaking the other one will soon too. So you will probably need both cartridges very soon even if only one is dripping. That's what happened on our sink. If you have lever handles instead of round/knob style handles, the lever ones can be challenging to remove. I have a review here explaining more.
