They are designed to resolve in the P-trap of a drain. I am sure in a toilet they will just get flushed away **Q: Does it really clear hair from the drains?** A: If you already have a problem it won’t , problem has to be resolved and sticks will maintain. **Q: Can these be used in the washing machine?** A: I don’t think so the instructions lead me to believe that it takes 4 weeks or so them to desolve in a drain P-Trap.
