Which is it?** A: Just so you know, the product length laid flat is 19 1/2" long and 3 1/4" wide. Once zipped up the diameter is about 1". It's hard to measure accurately because the tube is flexible. I'm actually very happy with the quality, now how to cut shorter. I'm thinking a dab of black silicone on each side to stop the zipper. **Q: Can they be cut to needed length? Not all my cables are 20 inches long.** A: I sew a lot. If you can thread a needle, then you can easily make zippers shorter...BUT you need to lower the zipper pull to the bottom of the zipper, (and not let it slid off while you) cut off whatever extra length you want, then sew across the zipper teeth at the top of EACH INDIVIDUAL side of the open zipper (keeping the zipper pull down at the bottom)-sew over and over-until the threads jam up the teeth so much that the zipper pull cannot cross them and fall off of the zipper. ANd the threads you sew do not have to be neat...even two big lumpy knots (one on each side) would work to stop the zipper pull from coming off! Now you can use the shortened zipper without the zipper pull coming off. **Q: Can these be connected to one another at the ends?** A: No, not at the ends.
