The Makalu FX Carbon AS (Antishock) will support you on your next mountain adventure. The Antishock model is equipped with the DSS damping system, which ensures a reduction in impact to relieve stress on the muscles, joints and ligaments. The newly developed Aergon Air has been improved in countless ways and has been redesigned in terms of comfort and control. Special hollow-core technology combines lightweight construction and large, supportive surfaces that meet all the ergonomic requirements of your hand. The back of the Aergon Air grip is fully rubberized for maximum grip and control when going downhill. The inclined angle supports your wrist for optimal guidance and placement of the pole. The Makalu FX Carbon AS provides the ultimate tool for comfortable and secure outings. The Makalu FX Carbon AS is infinitely adjustable from 110 - 130 cm using the durable Speed Lock 2 plus lever system. This pole folds into three sections when not in use making it easy to quickly stow away in your pack when not in use. NOTE: Always use poles that have DSS tips with attached baskets.

Review: Works great, but not for people shorter than 5’9” - I’m 5’9” and the lowest setting is just right. If you’re shorter, this won’t work. I’m partially paralyzed and use one stick for stability every day, even when walking the dog. This stick is comfortable and when I need to break it down (restaurants, planes and Ubers), it’s easy to handle and folds up to a small package. I can easily manage putting it together with one almost useless hand. I’m frankly amazed that the little thumb release works so well. It’s never collapsed on me unexpectedly. Not once. I did buy the rubber tip, which is necessary for almost everything I do.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great, but not for people shorter than 5’9”

I’m 5’9” and the lowest setting is just right. If you’re shorter, this won’t work. I’m partially paralyzed and use one stick for stability every day, even when walking the dog. This stick is comfortable and when I need to break it down (restaurants, planes and Ubers), it’s easy to handle and folds up to a small package. I can easily manage putting it together with one almost useless hand. I’m frankly amazed that the little thumb release works so well. It’s never collapsed on me unexpectedly. Not once. I did buy the rubber tip, which is necessary for almost everything I do.
