It's very lightweight which is exactly what I was looking for so I could use it year round. The stitching feels really good quality and the quilt itself feels very soft to the touch. Unlike a lot of quilts, this one does extend over the edges of the bed to cover the mattress on my queen sized bed. I'm not using the pillow shams, so I can't speak to how they work - didn't even unfold them yet. I ordered the red and grey quilt and the red is a nice brick red. The gray is nice too, but the red is the side that I'm using. Washing instructions said to wash in cold water and to hang to dry, but I use the dryer on low and it was just fine. I don't know a lot of people who have place to hang a queen size quilt so that's a little ridiculous to expect that. Unfortunately, a week after I ordered it the price dropped by 30%.
