It has enough power, but lacks the laser guide of the next model up. No matter. I don't use it all the time. The cord is a bit irritating at times, but it wasn't worth the much higher price for the battery model since I would have had to buy batteries too. It gets the job done and is all I need. The guides made it super easy to use, and the fact that it is corded made me all the happier, as I hate managing batteries. I'm very impressed. I needed a circular saw a few weeks ago & borrowed a battery one. While very convenient, it definitely didn't have enough power & kept getting jammed & I thought I might be doing something wrong with it. Bought myself this Skil 13A, 1800W, 7.25" circular saw & I'm very happy with it. The same wood the other saw kept getting stuck on, this one cut within seconds without any jams or kickbacks. I've used a circular saw maybe twice in my life but this saw is very easy to use even for beginners like me. I had some very heavy solid wooden chairs that I stupidly left outside over the winter & got weather damaged. I couldn't just put them out to the trash & used the circular saw to cut the wood legs & back off. I was able to cut each chair to pieces in under a minute with ease. My only complain if you wanna call it that is that the sawdust flew all over my shoes with prejudice.
