Great weight and solid design. We have no worries that are young son or cats will make the tree tip over. Best tree stand. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth the money, 15 years and still looks like new. *by R***H on December 23, 2014* After years of using those cheap sheetmetal stands with a shallow bowl for a base, and dealing with their problems and instability, I had the screw holes strip out and had to buy another stand. The only one they had at the store that wasn't cheap flimsy plastic or another shoddy sheetmetal stand like I was tossing was the Santa's Sturdy Tree Stand. It was expensive at $40. But it was that or spend $20 on another junky one.That was back in 1999. I have used that same Santa's Sturdy Stand ever since, with big and small trees. I don't regret spending the money! Buy quality and cry once, or buy cheap and cry over and over. Plus it knocks down just by pushing the spring buttons on the legs and stores easily on a shelf in the garage until next year.It has withstood assaults by my cats and dogs and little kids. It holds trees stable and secure. It only holds about a gallon of water but if you check and refill it every couple days it's fine. I use a regular bottled water bottle to fill the stand and it might take a few trips from empty. People complaining about how hard it is to fill are really making a big deal about a small issue. I would much rather trade a wide shallow bowl for the deep and strong base of the Santa's Sturdy Stand.The threads of the eyebolts do get some sap and corrosion, and I finally took a wire brush to the threads and coated them with some anti-seize lube and no further problems with sticking. A very very minor problem and one every stand can get. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Built like a tank but you'll need to hire elves to do the watering *by B***Y on December 7, 2013* Sturdy as heck but jeeze, how are you supposed to water the tree ? It's made from Heavy duty steel which you'd expect for this price. It's plenty stable although time will tell if the four legs lie flat on the ground for it's lifespan. The trick is you have very little room between the tree trunk and the rim of the stand. You almost need something like a beer bong (funnel with a long plastic tube) to water the tree. Forget knowing it's low on water, you're getting on your back and sticking your hand down inside to know if it's dry. And if it does, good luck tipping any type of watering can enough to pour water in there. I can't wait till I can teach my kids to do this chore so I no longer smell like a tree from scraping my head through branches to get the damn water in there.Otherwise it's great.
