## Description

Product description Proven NF-P12 design Tens of thousands of quiet cooling enthusiasts around the globe swear by Noctua's classic NF-P12. Thanks to its impressive quietness, excellent performance and impeccable quality, the NF-P12 has become an established reference for quiet 120mm fans. Pressure-optimised Nine-Blade Design Specifically developed for high-impedance applications such as CPU coolers, water-cooling radiators or cases with tight fan grills, the NF-P12's nine-blade impeller provides outstanding pressure and airflow performance. SSO-Bearing Combining the proven concept of hydrodynamic bearing with an additional magnet that supports the self-stabilisation of the rotor axis, Noctua's time-tested technology has become synonymous with supremely quiet operation and exceptional long-term stability. Vortex-Control Notches Noctua's signature Vortex-Control Notches split up trailing edge vortices and thus spread the fan's noise emission over a wider range of frequencies. This measure makes the fan sound more pleasant to the human ear. Colour-customisable with NA-SAVP1 anti-vibration pads The fan’s frame can be outfitted with Noctua’s chromax line NA-SAVP1 anti-vibration pads. Available in black, red, blue, white, green and yellow, these pads not only damp minute vibrations but also allow the fan to be colour-customised in order to coordinate it with popular build colour schemes! Streamlined Redux Edition The redux product line reissues some of Noctua's most popular, award-winning models by presenting them in streamlined, accessibly priced packages. All redux edition products are industry proven, time-tested models that helped to found Noctua's reputation as a first-tier supplier of premium grade low noise cooling equipment.

Review: A PC fan with NO WEAKNESSES and SO MANY POSITIVES - Notuca has done it again, producing a great product and this time at an even better price. This fan is very good in several categories with no real downsides. These are premium high end fans, so it vastly outclasses stock case fans. Material quality is great, just by touching it and holding it, the whole thing feels much more premium. Right out of the box it feels good. Noise level is great, but do be sure to set the fan curves in your BIOS, otherwise they will be running with a bit of noise on full RPM, which is overkill. They move so much air as it is, there is little reason to run them so hard and it creates an unneeded noise level. So do set a fan curve, for sure. Highly versatile! It’s got great static pressure AND great airflow so you can comfortably use them on radiators or as case fans. Not all fans can say the same in terms of versatility. They do look alright to the eye, not some fancy RGB, but they are about functionality. Noctua has never been known for being flashy, but I highly recommend their anti-vibration pads for a nice accent as well as mitigating the vibrations for even less noise. Above all, the price point is what knocks it out of the park for me. There simply is no better fan for this price. I’m not saying it can’t be outperformed, but anything that would do so would easily cost more than twice as much. Performs like a $20-$30 fan, yet cost nearly half that. Unless you are able to or willing to, shell out anything for PC performance I don’t see why you wouldn’t use these. For most enthusiast, this is certainly sufficient and effective. Unless you are some mega enthusiast with a 3 grand rig in the tower, this is great. Great for enthusiast looking for premium cooling without breaking the bank.
Review: Excellent fans for a good price. - The fans cool down my pc really well and provide a good level of airflow all while sounding pretty quiet for how fast the fans are going which is nice.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How many cfm, or cubic feet per minute?**
A: Google says "120,2 cubic meters per hour to cubic feet per minute = 70,747049 (cubic feet) per minute." I can type that in with the best of them.

**Q: Is this an airflow fan or a static pressure fan?**
A: The fan blades are shaped for static pressure. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KF7PPY4/ref=psdc_11036291_t1_B07CG2PGY6 are shaped for airflow. These are static optimized fans

**Q: If I want to only use two wires on this fan for max speed, which leads should I use green / black ?**
A: Here's some info that might help you, and should answer that question giving you some confidence... that extra pin on a 4 pin fan is the digital speed control -- this is why the fan goes at max speed if plugged into a 3 pin connector (letting the 4th pin just hang over the side), rather than a a 4 pin connector. Pin number 3 is what tells your motherboard the rotations per minute (RPM) of the fan. So, all that you are left with is the first two pins. The first pin is ground (almost always black) and the second pin is the power (it's 12 volts, but you can get 5 volts from the a custom connector from the power supply instead of the 4 pin motherboard connector if you want to have a slower fan). Here's a chart:

For 4-Wire Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Controlled Fans

Pin Name Description	Wire color(usual)
1	GND Ground black
2	+12V	Fan Power	yellow
3	SIGNAL	Fan RPM green
4	PWM	Digital Control	blue

So to answer your question, yes it is possible to just use the first two pins (regardless of color, although the first one is almost always black, but the color of the second one is not always the same).

**Q: Will the pwm control on this fan stop it completely even with power to +12v/gnd?**
A: On my motherboard (ASUS X99-E WS), can't speak for any other motherboards, any percentage below 50% results in no movement, giving you only really adjustment between 50-100%. I found this somewhat frustrating, but I do prefer this to them never coming to a complete stop.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent fans for a good price.

The fans cool down my pc really well and provide a good level of airflow all while sounding pretty quiet for how fast the fans are going which is nice.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Solid Built! Impressed by its performance!
*by B***N on September 8, 2025*

Ordered this fan for my PC as an exhaust fan, because I got sick of my temps creeping up when gaming for extended periods of time. This fan is a beast in more ways then one, it moves a lot of air, but with the air movement it does get ramped up on noise. If you are looking for a more quite solution then this would probably not be the fan for you. in saying that you could use this fan at lower speeds and the noise is not as noticeable. I choose to run the fan at max speed when my PC hits a certain temp threshold. i have noticed a huge difference in overall temps and heat lag on my system. It has been solid as I use my PC daily for numerous hours and has not skipped a beat, no bearing noise, or anything. I highly recommend this fan for anyone, just be aware the faster it turns the louder it will get so set your fans speeds to your liking. It is also very solid built!
