What I can say is that I've had the hedge trimmer for over a year now and it's very good. **Q: I cannot get the cutter plastic guard off, should it just pull of easily?** A: A good pull will remove guard but be careful to fit correctly when finished **Q: Why are people saying it doesn't come with batteriy and charger** A: I purchased this last July and it came complete with battery and charger. As someone has mentioned previously you can buy the hedge trimmer without the battery and charger. I have purchased other Einhell products since without battery and charger and these work with my existing battery and charger. **Q: I have this with a 2Ah battery, would a bigger battery give it more welly?** A: The Einhell is a very disappointing sluggish action I have both batteries and it makes no difference. I bought the equivalent Lidl for half the price and is just the same but my long handled Gtech is so much better and so is after sales pity they no longer make short one the other famous one beginning with S (spelling !) is equally poor after sales . I recommend this product to all my gardening friends. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Einhell Cordless Hedge Trimmer GE-CH 18/55/1 *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 24 May 2025* Early days yet, but I am pleased with this 18/55 cordless hedge trimmer by Einhell. I chose this longer (55cm) blade to provide the optimum reach and cutting area. It cuts well with an Einhell 4.0AHr Gen 2 (compact) battery. It is much more convenient and faster to manage large areas of hedging or individual shrubs (compared to hand shears or corded trimmers). I like the two handed safety operation, and the rotating handle which provides optimum ergonomic operation when carrying out vertical trimming. Also like the black plastic blade guard, which is a nice snug fit. One star deducted for the difficulty when installing the small transparent plastic hand guard.Update 1: Used this trimmer to shape six more shrubs, it did a good job. Far more effective than hand clippers. The rotating handle provided more comfort for vertical trimming. I used a 4.0AHr battery, it still had two (out of three) lights on the charge indicator. This trimmer is going to be invaluable for keeping hedges/shrubs in good order.Update 2: Second season/year, experienced trouble with the trimmer shutting down in use. Diagnosed the issue.
