Got these out, there's a load all in little bags within the packet, this keeps them dry and you only need to open one wee bag, this saves on any accidents. Soaked it in a dish of water for a minimum amount of time and wrapped it around the rawl plug. Pushed the plug into place and left it for 10 minutes whilst I did something else. Returned to my screwing and the plastic rawl plug didn't move at all. Now secure and on the wall, I'm impressed. Review: It works! - I'm not being paid to review this product, but I am quite gushing about it. I had appallingly crumbly and very infuriating bathroom wall (into which I was trying to fit shelves). All too often, the wall crumbled under the drill bit. I tried packing the holes with matchsticks and electrical flex..but to no avail. Do read the information contained in the link. **Q: Will these work in plasterboard? I have kitchen wall cupboards to fit.** A: I would strongly recommend against the idea. Find the studs and buy special metal pieces that are ideally suited to the job, sold by IKEA. Hang cupboards on plasterboard and you will be seeking advice on how to renew the wall. If you don't want to spend a few bob on the IKEA rails, cut 9mm ply into 75mm strips, then cut again thro the middle lengthways, at 45 degrees. Fix one length horizontally to the wall to suit the other which you fix to the top of the cupboards Very easy and works well. Don't forget a 9mm narrow spacer fixed to the bottom of each cupboard or on the wall. You will need a simple table saw, reasonable intelligence, and a bit of manual dexterity. **Q: Would this work on lath and plaster walls so I could just use a plaster board fixing? Thanks** A: It should do on plaster onto sold walls(brick) but not if on plasterboard as I tried this and found it needs more of a solid surface than plasterboard **Q: Would using a few of these work when used with a metal self drive plasterboard fixing?** A: Not sure. I used them through outside render into brick and they were (and still are after 18 months) excellent. However the purpose of these discs is to work with plugs to stop them spinning about in an oversized hole while you screw into the plug rather than as a filling that you then drive into. How about using these with plasterboard plugs such as the Fischer ones that expand behind the plasterboard and screw into those?
