There are a number of knots that I wanted to learn to tie for hanging my hammock and tarp ridgeline and guy lines for my tarp. The cord that I use for those applications is very thin and wasn't the best for learning to tie the knots I needed to learn. Having this thicker cord to practice tying those knots was helpful.
