It's tilted - you can see that in the picture, so expect this when you get it home. I also read other reviews that they came in scratched, mine did have a minor scratch on the front of it. We tried to clean it off and it didn't come off unfortunately. It wasn't bad enough for us to return it, the clock will be hanging on the wall so nobody will be able to see it. Plus my son loves it! We haven't tested it out yet with a battery, so I cannot comment on that.Just based on the looks - I would still buy it again even with the scratch. It's the exact theme we were looking for in my son's Cars themed bedroom.
