Thank you! **Q: Why is this so heavy, the 5x7 weights 5 lbs** A: I would it is a typo. I have installed mine, but it was not even 1 lbs. **Q: existing duct diameter is 7.5 new under cabinet duct diamter is 4.5 will it fit?** A: If your handy and have tin snips and duct tape yes. Not very strong rivets however so be delicate. **Q: can i use this to reduce from a 8 inch exhaust fan to a 4 inch hose ?** A: My diameter on exhaust hood is 6 1/2 inches from side to side running through the middle. This adapter fits perfectly over this. What I didn't figure is the 1 1/2 inch lip or height to taper into 4 inch pipe. So I think the hole will need to be enlarged in my cabinet to accommodate this or the hood won't be flushed as before. Remeasure it it is truly 8 inches it may fit on the inside of your ring.
