This kit provides the latter, including a wonderful truffle sauce. Easy-to-follow recipe was spot on for duration, and the resulting dish was outstanding. I recommend following the suggestions and adding 1/2 cup of white wine to the broth and pairing with pan-seared scallops. This would make a wonderful valentine's dinner or date night in. Review: Pretty good for a completely shelf stable dish - I’ve been trying multiple meal solutions for our new life in quarantine. This looked like a great option that needed absolutely no fresh food. I was pretty happy with it. The Arborio rice was authentic, the truffle sauce was excellent and for canned mushrooms, they were really decent. I did use fresh garlic and shallots rather than the dried packets that needed rehydration. I don’t think that anybody would suggest that this is the best way to prepare mushroom risotto but I applaud this company for giving us an alternative to rice, beans and canned tomatoes. Not that I don’t love rice and beans but I do appreciate a bit of variety. I also purchased the butter masala kit. Looking forward to making it with chicken! Read the WSJ article about these food kits and was hoping they had improved over those we had a number of years ago. OMG, Rachel’s Takeout Kit was fun to fix and tasted fabulous! We paired the risotto with seared scallops and a spinach side, paired with our favorite chardonnay. Beautiful...
