I am sensitive to strong scents, especially something I would apply right under my nose. This one is not too strong. After shaving with a safety razor, I often get some razor burn. This lotion calms the razor burn and helps to tone the skin without the burn of alcoholI really like this scent. Most of my aftershaves have a citrus scent which really doesn't work well with the soap. I ordered the Cognac and Cubans hoping it would match well with the shave soap. It does. The product works well as a balm, calming my skin after the outrage of having a razor dragged across it. It is not greasy and a little squirt will cover my whole face. The scent certainly works as well and is definitely strong. Not strong as in overpowering but strong as in long lasting. Most aftershaves fade after a few hours. If I shave first thing in the morning, most scents have departed by lunch time. The Cognac and Cubans scent remains well after I've finished work for the day and come home. For the first 30 minutes to an hour after application, the cigar scent dominates. This eventually fades somewhat revealing a complex vanilla and cognac scent that takes front stage. Personally I enjoy this transition because the cigar scent is strong and perks me right up in the morning ... like a caffeine splash to the face ... but then fades and you're left with the cognac and vanilla. Not too greasy and a little bit goes a long way. Scent lasts most of the day, fading as the day goes on.
