I was curious if the ink would work with my dip pen, and it does! It writes in a gray style almost like a watermark, I probably need to work at it a bit more, but I can easily read what I wrote and the ink flows fine through the nib. I'd get me some brushes but I don't know if the english alpha bet is compatible. I have made some and stored it in a well for later use. I will bet that I need to mix or swirl the solution next time I write. The well built into the stone is not ideal for a nib, it is made for brushes, but I was able to make enough ink to roll some ink onto my nib. I recommend a separate well for that though. Patience is the main ingredient for this stone. Patience makes better ink, and better penmanship. One last thing, the block that comes with it will make a lot of ink, I still bought two extras in case. Thanks for the ink stone. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent value inkstone and inkstick for pointed pen work. *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2019* This is an excellent entry level stone. It's a good value . The stone comes oiled. I used a degreaser and removed all of the oil. The ink can produce dark grey to black lines. I was surprised at the fine hairlines and dark swells this ink could produce for ornamental penmanship. Are there better stones and ink stick? Of course, but for the money, it is hard to beat this kit for the value. If anyone is interested in trying ground ink for pointed pen work, it's a nice kit to test the waters. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good packaging, nice quality after a little effort. *by J***L on Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2020* I'm new to using a traditional inkstone, but I cant help feel that flatter is better for the grinding surface. This item is reasonable, but I removed 1 star because it took me less than 20 minutes to make it great. Manufacturer could spend very little time to make them great from the factory. It is quality natural stone and very dense. The included ink stick seems to be of medium-high to high quality. I found the odor to be neither unpleasant nor strong. Very well packaged. Would recommend this product. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.gr/products/78025962-easyou-chinese-calligraphy-natural-stone-luowen-stone-she-ink-stone](https://www.desertcart.gr/products/78025962-easyou-chinese-calligraphy-natural-stone-luowen-stone-she-ink-stone) --- *Product available on Desertcart Greece* *Store origin: GR* *Last updated: 2026-10-21*
