If anything in my shower it breaks down some of the conditioner and soap left behind and it will wash down when I start my next shower. I really really love this stuff. **Q: Does it helpb prevent the buildup of calcium and mineral deposits?** A: With hard water yes my shower stays a lot cleaner and I don’t have to do as much scrubbing! **Q: I'm sure it smells good, but does it actually prevent build up? How exactly? It's adding a coating which I'm sure also gets stuck on the wall.** A: what happens is the soap scum kind of melts and next time you use shower (that is where I use it, after each shower) is washes it away so sides of tub and walls are clean. it does not put a coating on them. **Q: Can you use this product on natural stone in your shower?** A: My shower is stone tiles with the floor being the tile that looks like actual stones. This product works very well; I also put the product on the glass shower door and glass shower wall.
