I'm in south central North Carolina and the first night between 2 and 3 AM I picked up WSM Nashville like a local station! Also got WGN Chicago & WLW Cincinnati clearly. All three are 50KW clear channel stations that you'd expect to get on any mediocre radio. However I also picked up WKRD which is a 5KW station in Louisville KY and that one was truly the catch of the night and proved to me that this radio is an AM reception standout. It is a little tricky to tune this little Sony than a larger radio would be since here you are working within about a two inch space to tune the entire AM band, so it takes patience. **Q: How is the sound quality?** A: The sound quality is great even taking into account that it is just a small, cheap radio.
