Review: Decent oilstone - I prefer diamond plates for sharpening my edge tools these days, but this oilstone is what I used for many years before switching. It's a decent quality oilstone, perhaps a little slow to cut. I've used it to sharpen knives, chisels, and plane irons. The coarse/fine combination is reasonably comprehensive for routine sharpening (in other words, it won't be coarse enough to repair deep nicks or change a cutting angle, nor is it fine enough for final polishing, but it's adequate to put a working edge back on a blade that's in good repair but has lost its edge). I haven't used the oilstone regularly enough and heavily enough to cause visible dishing, so I can't say anything useful about longevity.
