Results, no test equipment, just eyes and ears - * 20th Anniversary Edition is the Extended cut (about 4 hours). A beautiful visual/audio transfer. (My own bias is in favor of the original Theatrical cut, but many also like this extended version.) * Region Free edition (non-USA release) is the Theatrical cut (Oscar winner; about 3 hours). This transfer is marred by some very minor artifacts, and detail, depth and beauty did not quite match the other two editions I'm comparing here. I always had that dissatisfaction with this version. * NEW- THIS product - Shout!'s Steelbook version video/audio quality matches or exceeds the beautiful 20th Anniversary Edition - and it includes both the Theatrical and Extended versions of the film - both of which are remarkably beautiful. Although on the backside sheet it says 2k, I think it’s 1080p HD. But still! You can see the details! the dirt on his jacket!
